Ensuring Electrical Safety with Galloper PAT Testing Services

Welcome to Galloper PAT, your trusted partner for comprehensive Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services in the North East of England. We are committed to ensuring the safety of your electrical equipment and helping you comply with regulatory requirements.

Why is PAT Testing Important?

"The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require that any electrical equipment that has the potential to cause injury is maintained in a safe condition. However, the Regulations do not specify what needs to be done, by whom or how frequently."

PAT testing is a crucial process for identifying potential electrical faults in appliances, significantly reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring a safe working environment for your employees and customers. Regular PAT testing is not just best practice; it's also a legal requirement for many businesses, helping you avoid penalties and maintain insurance compliance. Protecting your staff and customers from the dangers of faulty electrical equipment is paramount, and PAT testing is a vital part of that protection.

Our Comprehensive PAT Testing Services:

At Galloper PAT, we offer a wide range of PAT testing services tailored to meet your specific needs:

  • Visual Inspections: Our qualified engineer conducts thorough visual inspections of appliances to identify any obvious damage or defects, from frayed cables to damaged casings. This initial assessment is a crucial first step in the PAT testing process.
  • Electrical Testing: We perform a series of essential electrical tests, including earth continuity, insulation resistance, and leakage current tests, to ensure the appliance is safe to use. These tests go beyond visual inspection and identify problems that aren't immediately apparent.
  • Minor Repairs: We understand that time is valuable. Where possible, we can carry out minor repairs on-site to rectify any identified faults, saving you time and hassle associated with sending appliances away for repair.
  • Detailed Reporting: Transparency is key. We provide comprehensive reports detailing the results of each test, including any failed items and clear recommendations for action. These reports provide a valuable record of your electrical safety compliance.
  • Certification: Upon completion of the testing, we issue a formal PAT test certificate confirming the safety of your appliances. This certificate serves as proof of your compliance with safety regulations.
